The Animation Market Analysis Project of Japan's Media Development Research Institute (MDRI) released report stating the market for domestic and foreign animation in Japan reached 242.8 billion yen (about US$2.03 billion) over the course of the year 2013. According to the institute, this is a record high for the industry, topping 2006's 241.5 billion yen (about US$2.02 billion at current exchange rate).

Pokemon, Dragon ball and Digimon can define as key feature of 90s kid’s childhood. The reason animation can easy accept by the children and become a pop culture is because anime is creative and the scope of artistic freedom granted by the form of graphics allow anything to happen in anime.

The popularity of cosplay has growth because the spread of manga and anime. It have impact the sociality and other industry such as game industry and catering trade. Cosplay had become a form to promote the video game. They cosplay the character in the video game can easily attract people attention and interest. Since 1998, Tokyo's Akihabara district contains a number of cosplay restaurants, catering to devoted anime and cosplay fans, where the waitresses at such cafés dress as video game or anime characters; maid cafés are particularly popular.
